For the first time I got a taste of people trying to hack into my site. Someone from 221.134.26.22 a sify connection came and somehow managed to login my cpanel, redirected my site to an error page, changed my cpanel password and joyfully went off.
And I almost had a heartattack !!
But one thing I realised, when there is no one to help you, you make your way through hit and trial, as you got nothing to loose as you have already lost everything.
I remembered how once a friend of mine had changed the front end of his site to index.php file. So first things first, I checked if my index.php file was working. And bingo it was !! So the guy hadnt really blown off my database. Next thing, what to do with cpanel password. But through hit and trial I managed that too!!
And I saw redirects to an error page. So problem solved, But mystery remains.
Now, why would someone do that??
i have heard hacking is an addiction, you don’t necessarily need to have a good reason to a website or someone’s account. just the act of doing so gives the hacker some joy. in your case the hacker obviously didnt have any good reason since you page was redirected to some error page. these people are psychos.
on one side are people like who create and share and enjoy that, while on the other hand there are those who who invade and steal, and they probably enjoy that. you cant really do much about that.
Hmm… but the way someone did it, it makes me wonder how much annoyed (s)he must have been on me!!
yea i never thought it that way. but i dont see anything on your blog that could make someone so angry, unless it is some one who know you personally. just glad you got everything back.

Hackers practise thier skills breaking into weak sites… and defacing is done by the dumbest of all hackers. What I feel is that these error-page directors are nothing but Script kiddies, they just run a script on your site which does the stuf for them automatically… dumbz0rs, they hardly have brains.
