Dish TV quality sucks

We took up Dish Tv connection from december itself following the CAS regulation in south Delhi. And it has been a pain in all the wrong places since the very first month of installation.

I am bugged right now because for the past two days it simply stops working at 9.50pm when my current favourite serial ‘Virrudh’ is at its peak and climax. It is so damn irritating that you just cant imagine.

I havent yet started complaining about the fact that despite we having opted for the “All channel” subscription, all the channels never work properly. The signal strength and quality is weak and they show up as and when they wish to and most hours of teh day it simply shows some error. And yes when it rains, it simply shuts down. No channel is available on display.

The trouble started from January itself when they started asking for next month’s rental despite the fact that they were advertising hugely across all over Delhi that if you take up Dish tv now then you dont need to pay anything for next 6 months. For over 20 days in Jan-Feb it was shut down from their end on account of non-payment. Still nothing. They started it and have been promising to extend our period to 6 months 20 days. Lets see how far do they stick to that.

And to top it all their customer care is PATHETIC. They do anything but care for customers. Despite numerous complaints about it all, till date we havent seen a response from their side. Not a single one !!

I think it was the worst choice made and I have been told Tata Sky is far far better.

The best of Koffee with Karan

Tonight was one of the best of Kofee with Karan episodes. The guest for the evening were Randhir Kapoor, Rishi Kapoor, Rajeev kappor along with Neetu Kapoor and Reema Kapoor Jain.

Oh was it fun !

I dont think I have ever seen a Kofee with Karan episode so natural and so filled with fun. For the first time I saw people chatting without any accent, without any prim and proper words or the posture for the matter. They revealed each others secrets and made fun of eachother and yet enjoyed each and every bit of it. The oozed class and oomphed love.

Was definately worth watching!!

Indian Idol 3 Auditions

Ohk, so before we could get over Abhijeet sawant, Rahul vaidya, Prajakta Shukre, Rex Fernandes, (The one and only) Kazi Tauqeer and whole buckets full of them, Indian Indol 3 is here.

And so is their panel of judges, 3 fresh faces ( Alisha Chinoi, Javed Akhtar and Udit Narayan) and the one and only snooty, arrogant and stupid Anu Malik. Somebody pinch me, wasnt Alisha the one who some years (read decades) back had complained against Anu Malik on the grounds of casting couch?? And here she is giggling away to glory trying to impersonate Javed Akhtar’s hindi sitting right next to Anu Malik? Just a perfect example of kiss and forget. Er…I mean forgive and forget.

Anu Malik, my favourite for criticism. He of all the people is sitting there telling people that they dont have it in them to sing. Hello!! Did someone tell him that he has great singing talent??? I doubt anyone did. But still he did sing and made us all reach nirvana by listening to his oh-so-melodious songs and the aftermath is that my ears are still ringing. So, he telling people they dont have “THAT” thing in their voice, well I dont have words to explain what it is.

Little champs on ZEE tv

I have been watching this musical show for kids for a while now. And been following the performance of Diwakar for a long time. For those who are completely ignorant of this programme, let me just give you a brief introduction.

Diwakar sharma is a student of DPS R K puram delhi and has been in this programme since the very beginning. I would hate to mention it here in his introduction that he is visually challenged as for me it really doesnt make any difference. I guess a month back he was ruled out on the basis of poor performance and was brought back due to public voting.

Charming Queen Rania !!

I had read her speech in India Today on the “Empowerment and Education of girl child” a few months back and I wont deny that she impressed me back then with her looks ( her face was the cover page of India Today that month) and ofcourse her thoughts.

Today she just reconfirmed her intellect on Oprah when on being questioned why some women wear viel in jordon while others dont, she said

Women should be judged for not what they wear on their heads but for what they have in their head !!

Omkaara: Indian Othello?

So now our very own bollywood is coming out with an indian adaptation of shakespeare’s Othello.

With a star cast of Ajay Devgan, Kareena Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, Konkana Sen, Vivek Oberoi and bipasha Basu, the director stands a chance to make the movie’s presence felt at the box office. The variety in the star cast might work in its favour. I only hope that ajay, saif, kareena and konkana manage to pull it off if not superbly, but atleast good enough.

Mehfuz hai Euphoria

Euphoria seems busy in making xerox copies of one song after the other with almost similar video concepts. Mehfuz, a song from their latest album has nothing new to offer.

I think its time we start listening to these songs sans the video. It will definately help boost sales of such songs, which lose their charm thanks to an ill shot video and larger than the song artists.
