Dealing with exams

The more you study, the lesser questions you can answer in the exam. The lesser you study, the more you can answer.( atleast thats what my experience has been)

Doesnt that serve as a reinforcement for all to do selective studying against covering the whole damn syllabus?

You bet it does, atleast for me !!

Worst dream

Its not about falling off from a height, or coming under a bus/train or whatever, neither its about being chased by a demon/ animal nor its about a fight betwen you and your close ones.

Its when you dream of not being able to complete your exam in the set time limit. And the most annoying ones can have you recalling complete answers and solutions in your dreams and still not being able to write it down. Tch Tch…

During exam times, ‘Araam haraam ho jaata hai’ quite literally !!

Exploiting the weak links

Trust us Indians to be hypocrites to the core. We will be the first ones to crib about the weak links of our education and then be the first one to exploit them aswell.

And there is no denying that I am guilty of the same.

Its a known fact that our Evaluation system, or so to speak the examination system is the weakest link of our education system. Its in no way the judge of students performance but only quantification of his achievement.

I support the Reservation issue

Yes you read the title right. I didnt miss the “dont” in it. I know the reservation issue has met criticism from all spheres and at all grounds in our country. While it has led to a serious debate of detrioration of quality of education that so will prevail, its the quality of product of educational institutions, where this reservation shall be applied, that has been questioned.

But I think I should support it, infact all of us should support it provided Continue reading

Dukh bhare din beeto re bhaiya… ab sukh aayo re

Finally the biggest hurdle of my M.Ed is over and done with. I have conquered the realm of unknown (thats philosophy you dodo!!) :-P

Everything else should be cakewalk, except for dissertation, my final research thesis. I am keeping my fingers crossed and hoping that my close associates keep bugging me to study and get over with the rest of the exams ASAP.

5 down 5 more to go… yeah yeah !!

15 Park Avenue

An excellent movie which is bound to disturb you long after its over. Konkana Sen amazes you with her acting prowess and outshines Shabana Azmi in many scenes. I must admit that she portrays the character of a schizophrenic quite convincingly. Shabana Azmi plays the role of her elder sister torn between her responsibilities towards her sister and her aspirations in life. Rahul Bose seems at ease portraying his character of JoJo, Konkona’s love interest in the movie.

Tips for Examinations

After having spent 21 years studying, I seem to have gained an expertise over appearing for examinations and the tactics to tackle and crack them. Here are a few of my tips to get you going through the stressful times:

1. Study the trend of past 5 years and prepare a list of most oftenly covered topics. The logic behind it being that thats what is most likely to be followed this year too. Well, Lets accept the fact that the paper setters are pretty lazy in taking the risk of making a new, all together different trend paper. The chances are real bleak. And if you are really unlucky then this will surely happen !!

Confused state of mind

What if you are just 9 hours away from your examination, and after having read all the books, study material, readings….everything…you realise it doesnt make any sense? You cant seem to find its utility in your future? Only that it would fetch you a good degree and help in your career prospects?

It seems all meaningless and you are doing it pretty mechanically. Either the syllabus needs a rather neat revamping or the education system.

Or maybe me
