Where has the breakfast gone?

I remember my childhood days (and before you get started, let me clear the air, they arent that far away in history) and how breakfast was not something that required a special mention. It was there. Like any other normal routine. Be it stuffed paranthas, maggi, chole bhature, grilled sandwiches, egg or whatever. It was there. No issues.

Then came a period of ‘Mom what’s for breakfast?’ when paranthas became oily, maggi’s new taste-maker was developed and that option went out of the window as well, chole bhature were fattening. There were hardly a few options left for ‘breakfast’.

And now I hardly eat breakfast. Breakfast is an event. I am asked by friends or colleagues ‘breakfast kiya kya?

You need balls to break the silence

Its all quiet right now. Just the faint sound of the fan as if its going to fall off if its made to run any faster and ‘Bol na halke halke – Jhoom barabar Jhoom’ playing on the computer. Rest its all but silence. Nothing but pure silence.

I know people who prefer silence. Infact I have known myself during the times I so want everyone around to simply shut up. But what happens when you are screaming inside but its all quiet outside? Not cos you cant shout. But cos there is no one to hear and respond to that scream with a concern. Well… to think of it, If I do scream right now, it would only disturb my dad’s sound sleep. Thats about it.

I am mostly a silent kid at home. Who hardly speaks. Who is hardly awake to speak. Who is hardly available when the other beings at home are awake. Thats me. Yes that bad girl is me. There I said it !
