Flowers and Happiness

Flowers

Happiness held is the seed; happiness shared is the flower.

When a 6 year old kid decides to marry

A six-year-old boy told his father he wanted to marry the little girl across the street. The father, being modern and well-schooled in handling children, hid his smile behind his hand.

“That’s a serious step,” he said. ” Have you thought it out completely?”
“Yes,” his young son answered. “We can spend one week in my room and the next in hers. It’s right across the street, so I can run home if I get scared of the dark.”

“How about transportation?” the father asked.

“I have my wagon, and we both have our tricycles,” the little boy answered.

The boy had an answer to every question the father raised.

Finally, in exasperation, his dad asked, “What about babies? When you’re married, you’re liable to have babies, you know.”

“We’ve thought about that, too,” the little boy replied.
“We’re not going to have babies. Every time she lays an egg, I’m going to step on it!”

Proud to be a teacher

Yes I am. And here is why.

Well, I make kids work harder than they ever thought they could.
I make kids wonder.
I make them question.
I make them criticize.
I make them apologize and mean it.
I make them have respect and take responsibility for their actions.
I teach them to write and then I make them write.
I make them read, read, read.
I make them show all their work in math.
I make my classroom a place where all my students feel safe.
I make my students stand to pay allegiance to their Flag, to their country.
Finally, I make them understand that if they use the gifts they were given, work hard, and follow their hearts, they can succeed in life.

I MAKE A DIFFERENCE.

The ‘J’ Factor

How often do we ponder over the reason behind our jealousy. Is it only cos we are saddned by the fact that we dont have what others have or we didn’t get what others did. Or is it the realisation that we may NEVER have what others just did !!

Many a times the jealousy is artificial. If thought logically it shouldn’t be there at all, as there seems no reason for it to be in the first place. But then, when we talk of the J factor, logic simply goes out of the window.

We all are jealous at some point or the other. Jealous of our siblings, friends, companions, seniors, neighbours, acquaintances and so on.. But the reason and the extent of jealousy varies considerably when we move within these domains. Jealousy may not always be for material issues, it can be present even for the silliest and the most stupid reason as well. I think even the life of this fator is a question that calls for some thinking.

This blog is worth $886!!

Just came across this site which tells you the estimated value of a site. Here are the results of my site:

The estimated value of http://varshita.net is: $886

This value is calculated based on several factors including: Links, Traffic (Alexa), age of the domain, site category, domain keyword popularity, and overall occurrences of the domain name on the web.

The estimated value of a single link on http://varshita.net is: $13 /month

If I were to sell 8 spots on one page, I could generate $104/month in revenue for my website.

Berco’s in Connaught Place

I went to this chinese restraunt on friday with great expectations only to be highly disappointed with their service. And yeah, the food didnt taste any great either.

Well, the beginning itself was a reflection of what was instore for us for lunch. We had ordered for drinks and the waiter did arrive with the right ones, but brought them in his hands. Seems like they just ran out of trays. Moving further, we had to remind them 3 times for a drink that we ordered again. Such well known restraunt and they didnt give us napkins, but cheap tissue papers. This was a complete put off for me.

Punjabi couplet from Namastey London

Ishq di mere mitra pehchaan ki, mit jaave jad yaara jid apaan di

Many who have seen Namastey London would easily recollect this punjabi couplet from the movie. Had to hunt for it a lot, and finally suceeded. For those who find punjabi alien talk, it means “What is the sign of love? It is when we give up on our rigidness”.

Beautiful. Simply Beautiful.

Woh mera rasta bhi hai aur wohi manzil
woh mera sagar bhi hai aur wohi saahil…
Yahi hota pyar hai kya?
