Tears and Fears

Unlike many people, I cry pretty easily. Be it a touchy movie, a senti conversation, or simply to see the person I love (family or friends) in pain. I cant take it. I have a whole gamut of emotions that simply flood my system and we see some good thick tears rolling down my cheek.

But yeah, the contacts have done some great job for me. It atleast avoids me from shedding tears 70% of the times and thats a big one ! :D

And now since you would be wondering the stupid reason behind this even stupider ( if there were to exist any such word) post, let me clear the air. Its not just easy for me to cry but it also isnt an ego issue for me. I simply have no qualms in crying. Infact almost always it helps me feel better. Much better. But trust me its not the case with many people I have known. Men in our society are sermoned since childhood to stop crying as they are class apart. They just keep bottling it up for god knows what day !

A good peaceful day!

Its quite rare that I have a peaceful, yet energetic, quiet yet loud, comforting yet distracting day at work.

But all in all I would call it a good day. I felt good, felt peaceful, felt happy from within after a long time.

Some asked is it love? some said is it dove?

I say its clove…healthy and fragrant !!
hee hee.. bad one !

I would say its the weather and my dreams. Rain and my mood, almost always go together :)

Professional development of Teachers

Introduction:

“A teacher can never truly teach unless he is still learning himself. A lamp can never light another lamp unless it continues to burn its own flame”.

-Rabindra Nath Tagore

In India, education has always been viewed as a moral and teaching has been valued for its transformative impact on learners. Transformative, because it transforms the learner as well as the teacher in a deep, mysterious and abiding manner. A teacher’s work requires mastery over a body of knowledge to be taught as well as the development of personal knowledge about what is worth teaching and which ways are relatively more effective. The pre-service teacher education programme formally teaches them the technique of teaching. But most of what experienced teachers learn about teaching, is learnt on-the-job, by making sense of one’s day to day experiences. And it needs to be constantly restructured in the light of subsequent experiences.

For a school, the most important asset is its teaching force. And, the most important investment a school management, administrators, and parents can make in a school system is to ensure that teachers continue to learn. Continuous, high-quality professional development of teachers is essential not only for a school, but also for the nation’s goal of high standards of learning for every child.

Shhh…parliament session is on !

Yah right. My foot !

This is what I felt like telling the security people who kept hushing me from talking to my colleagues. As if my whispering would have disturbed them. Oh yah… Did I forget to mention the strength of MPs in teh parliament who would have got disturbed?

Leaving aside the Prime minister, there were hardly 15 MPs present in the whole session !!

And among those who were present, there were just 4-5 from the opposition. And to top it all, it was the MPs of the same ruling party who were chatting away to glory while a MP was making his presentation for minutes (read hours!!) at a stretch. The poor speaker got so fed up of requesting him to windup by pressing the buzzer that he actually anounced the next MP’s name who was supposed to make the presentation.
